Olive & Ronnie is a small-batch candle company based in St. Catharines, ON. For over eight years, we’ve been handcrafting candles using only the highest quality ingredients: a coconut soy wax blend, phthalate-free fragrance oils or premium essential oils and natural cotton wicks.
One thing that really sets us apart is our scents—we rarely pour straight from the bottle. Instead, we carefully craft unique blends that are entirely our own, designed to delight the senses and bring a little extra joy to everyday moments.
Following a workplace accident, our founder, Chantal was introduced to essential oils by a friend to help support her healing — both physically and mentally.
One day, while visiting a handmade shop, she discovered an essential oil candle and decided to give it a try. That simple moment sparked her curiosity and inspired her to create her own candles.
After researching and purchasing a beginner’s candle-making kit, she began experimenting and sharing her creations online. With encouragement from family and friends, she launched a successful Kickstarter campaign and officially started her candle business, originally called Meraki Aromatherapy.
A few years later, after expanding her product line to include fragrance oil candles, Chantal knew it was time for a change. It was time to rebrand — to find a new name and look that truly reflected her business and the direction she envisioned it heading. In 2020, Olive & Ronnie was born.
We get asked all the time, “Where does the name Olive & Ronnie come from?” The answer is simple — Olive & Ronnie is named after Chantal’s grandparents: Evelyn, whose middle name is Olive and Ronald, who’s known as Ronnie to many.
Chantal’s grandparents have always been a huge part of her life — from helping raise her as a young child to, even now, lovingly supporting everything she pursues in life.
Since becoming Olive & Ronnie, we’ve discovered our style, brand voice, and what makes us truly unique—unlocking creativity like never before. Along the way, we’ve embraced incredible opportunities, collaborated with amazing people, and brought our vision to life in ways we never imagined.
